Old time fans have asked how the recently-released new edition of Credo differs from the original 1992 ziplock bag edition?
Our short answer: the new edition of Credo has a different substance, but shares the same nature.
Longer answer: Gameplay has been streamlined, with the opportunity to play a short or long game. All players get a version of each article in the initial deal, rather than drawing and discarding every turn. Drawing cards now determines outcomes such as Persecute etc, rather than rolling dice and consulting a table. Playing a Church Father to Teach or Refute is a standard action like Proselytise. Heterodox books which added votes are replaced by accusations of heresy which subtract them from an opponent. There are a whole lot of entertaining new events, as well as the old familiar ones. And the glorious new art and production quality, obviously.
Credo designer Chris Gidlow says "My feeling is if you liked the old game, you’ll love this version!"
