What is Glorantha
Glorantha is one of the oldest and most influential fantasy role-playing settings. It is the magnum opus of legendary designer Greg Stafford, who has accumulated Glorantha's myths, legends, and other lore since 1966.
Glorantha has been the setting for several role-playing game systems, including RuneQuest and HeroQuest Glorantha, and for the award-winning computer game King of Dragon Pass.

What The Critics Say
"Glorantha is Greg Stafford’s most famous creation. Countless tabletop RPG players have visited this strange land of gods and chaos... It is glorious. I am not sure there is a tabletop setting so richly detailed and strange... I love lots of tabletop settings, but they all pale in comparison to Glorantha."
— Vintage RPG, Glorantha is Greg Stafford's most famous creation/a>.

Where to start... gosh. This felt like I was holding an epic tome (albeit it could be used as a blunt weapon due to its size and weight - haha). Words can't express properly the amount of work and detail that are contained within this set. I was truly astonished by this and left in awe. It is so comprehensive to the world of Glorantha for anyone wanting to immerse themselves fully. I hate to keep reiterating the importance and feeling of this "archive" because that is what it is, but I truly and sincerely believe this is quite possibly the greatest compilation of any RPG ever created - and that you are buying something that will live on for many years as one of the greatest RPG products in history. This was a labor of love and I am very proud to own it - and when I get time to myself I find that I will pull it out just to learn more about Glorantha. That's the funny thing once you start to get into Glorantha - it quite literally makes you want to learn more and more and this book will leave you very satisfied. For an epic tome, the quality level of the book and pages are fantastic - as is the artwork and information. I really like the layout of the volumes as well. I honestly can't say enough good things about this set other than I am extremely happy I spent the money to acquire it because it was absolutely worth it.
Awesome ! This world could exist. We would really want to hike Glorantha. An essential work.
This set of huge coffee table sized books is not for everyone! But if you want to dive deep into the geography, politics, and history of Glorantha with gorgeous art along the way then this is a must-have! The searchable pdfs are extremely useful, but if you are a Glorantha afficionado with deep enough pockets then you need these books! In no way essential to running any of the many games set in Glorantha, however!
I miss this product when it was a Kickstarter and longed to get a copy but was scared off by the price tag at first. I had an opportunity to look it over at GENCON and decided that I needed a copy. The book is packed with all the information you could ever want concerning Glorantha. I like to choose random pages to read, and quickly find myself absorbed in the material and the magic of the setting.
This is Epic! It feels real, the setting and the interactions within the setting make sense. After contless hours of going through these tomes, I can safely say that I have spent many other contless hours thinking about what I had read. It is exhaustive, yet it gives you the freedom to interpret the setting and make it your own. There is a few lifetimes of adventures contained in those tomes. This is what a mythic fantasy setting should look like.
Its difficult to believe the depth in this book. It's an absolute gem. Artwork is fantastic and really helps bring the text and world to life. Wish I'd known about it sooner.
It is products like this that make Glorantha stand out from other fantasy worlds. The Guide to Glorantha is a magnum opus of RPG world building, and no other system has anything comparable. The size and detail of worldbuilding that has gone into this document eclipses anything else on the market today. If you love the world of Glorantha, these huge volumes form an encyclopedia that demonstrates the poverty of imagination in other RPG worlds. This is art.
Sure, Runequest has a great rule system, but the real secret to its success, and devoted following decades after its release, is the rich background provided by the world of Glorantha. The Guide to Glorantha could have been called Encyclopedia Gloranthica, it's just... Wow! So much information. So many beautiful illustrations. So many great ideas for campaigns. Wow!
