Yet another peaceful train ride offering a chance for reflection and rest… But that’s not the story we’re telling today. The Orient Express offers you a luxurious ride and it will definitely be the one to remember, as after boarding the train you start noticing disturbing signs and realize it’s your job to make sure the train reaches its destination safely…somehow.

Horror on the Orient Express: The Board Game is a fully cooperative game designed by Adam Kwapiński and Michał Gołąb Gołębiowski. The game can be played by 1-4 players, offering the thrill of trying to survive in the train that looks very much doomed. The game is inspired by Chaosium’s modern classic Call of Cthulhu campaign of the same name (though it contains no spoilers!).

In Horror on the Orient Express: The Board Game, you play the role of an Investigator equipped with unique skills to overcome a variety of challenges. Throughout the game you can develop your skills and acquire objects and spells to aid you. Cooperation is key—each Investigator specializes in a different area, and everybody can address each challenge in a unique way.

The key to winning the game lies in effective task management, as there are many challenges that the players need to address. Forgetting about even one of them will quickly result in dire consequences…

What are the dangers?

As the train launches into the Dreamlands, it passes disturbing landscapes filled with Essence that litter the journey with additional chaos. Removing the Essence undoes these negative effects.

Passengers become angry, scared, hurt, or go completely insane from what they witness. You must keep their emotional states relatively balanced, so they don’t cause any trouble.

Three types of Monsters follow the train, ready to attack at any moment. You need to remove them by Pushing or Banishing them. Keep them away from the locomotive!

Also, there is a strange creature lurking through the windows. Is it… a vampire? Try to keep him away from the Passengers, as he is on the hunt for his next victim.

Suspicious individuals travel with you. These cultists are plotting an evil ritual to stop the train from reaching its destination. Play a game of deduction to uncover their identities and see who is on your side—and who needs to be removed!

What's your goal?

Your objective is always the same: Make sure the train reaches its destination, and uncover the true identities of the Suspects. Components for the game are set up in unique ways, so no two play-throughs will be the same. There are numerous strategies, solutions, and aids that help you with challenges. Your adventure on board the Orient Express is very replayable.
