We played a game of Credo at the site of the actual first Council of Nicaea, 1701 years later...

Chaosium's MOB and Nick Brooke are in Turkey for Horror in the Cisterns, a Call of Cthulhu actual play show taking place in Istanbul's ancient 5th century Cistern of Theodosius on Saturday night.
But earlier this week they travelled to the city of Iznik, formerly known as Nicaea. There in AD 325 the First Council of Nicaea was held. Called by the Emperor Constantine the Great, it brought together bishops from across the Roman Empire to decide exactly what the Church believed.
In August we're excited to be releasing Credo, the game of duelling dogmas. This is Chaosium's board game simulation of the Council of Nicaea, in which the players represent different factions of the early Christian faith, seeking to ensure their beliefs are accepted into the Creed (but beware, rival bishops may engage in raw politics, wheeling and dealing, and horse-trading!)

Joined by their Chaosium colleague Andrew Bean, MOB and Nick played a lively game of Credo at the ruins of the Basilica of St Neophytus, the very site of the first Council of Nicaea (well, they played it in the cafe across the road). This church had been destroyed in an earthquake in the 8th century and submerged in Lake Askania, but was rediscovered in 2014 due to receding water levels.

You can see the result of MOB, Nick and Andrew's game in the Creed here:

If you'd like to be informed about the release of this long awaited and eagerly anticipated game, we invite you to sign up to our Credo mailing list!
