Welcome to the first Volumes from Valhalla.

In these posts we'll highlight new releases in the Sagas of the North, our new community content program at DriveThruRPG. Here independent creators can make and sell their own content for the award-winning Age of Vikings roleplaying game.

These are the inaugural titles! If you like what you see, please do give them a rating or even a review!

Snow Mount Peninsula
Don Ford ($19.99, 119 page PDF)

A detailed Icelandic setting book which can be used as the adventurers' home for a new Age of Vikings campaign.

The area has good farm lands and safe harbours, enough to guarantee years of prosperity. But, not all neighbours are good neighbours, and the Goði of Helgafell has always had an eye on what can be taken by cunning or trickery. The hills and waterfalls of the area is also home to many mythical creatures, both friend and foe. Above all towers the snowy peak of Snæfellsnes (Snow Mount), which the frost giant Hrym froze and capped the volcano with a mighty glacier preventing the dragon Sváfnir passage westwards. The setting promises many sessions of deep campaign play.

The Tyrant of Mumhan
Paul Looby ($8.99, 97 page PDF)

A bolt from the blue presents the crew of the Icelandic knorr Grágás with a unique opportunity to earn silver and favor at the court of Great Ívarr, the Norse King of Hlymrekur (Limerick). However, fell omens gather thickly around the throne of the Tyrant of Mumhan.

An Age of Vikings saga for four to six players, The Tyrant of Mumhan takes your Icelandic heroes to Ireland and the towns of the Norse Austmenn settlers.

Hulda's Last Song
Carol Tierney ($2.99, 18 page PDF)

The funeral of respected seiðkona, Hulda, is disrupted by a panicked polar bear, which charges toward visiting seiðkona Vigdís. After this event Vigdís reveals that Hulda has failed to hand over one of her obligations which could mean the end of the community. The players are sent to investigate the abandoned hut where Hulda lived to find details of the ancient pact she maintained between humans and the land spirits.

The Froda Wonders
Don Ford ($4.99, 25 page PDF)

A woman came from the sea. Þórgunna she was called; foreign, fierce, and cloaked in midnight. Her hands bore rings, her eyes the weight of tides. She asked only this: that her bones be burned in fire, her gifts given to the ash and the wind. But the cloak was kept. And the grave was dug. And so it began…

The Fróðá Wonders episode in Eyrbyggja Saga serves as a chilling fable about the consequences of violating spiritual and social obligations, especially those tied to death, ritual, and the unseen forces that govern the land.

The Darkest Day
Thorsteinn gunnlaugsson ($2.99, 16 page PDF)

The Darkest Day is a saga of honor, vengeance, and impossible choices set in the frozen reeches of Lake Vesturhóp area of northern Iceland.

The Mystery of Raider Monks
Marek Golonka ($3.00, 17 page PDF)

The heroes’ native farmlands are raided by Irish monks! They behave like Viking berserkers and cause damage no Christian has ever inflicted to Iceland before. As soon as the raid is repelled, the Icelanders start preparing a revenge raid on the monks’ abbey. There, the heroes have a chance not just to loot and avenge, but to discover the secret of the abbey: a bloody divine charade meant to trick both Christians and Icelanders!

Age of Vikings: Family Sagas
Marek Golonka ($2.00, 12 page PDF)

Family is crucial in Norse Iceland society. Your party members are crucial in roleplaying games. Thus, it makes a lot of sense to create an Age of Vikings party that’s also a family. This short supplement will guide you through the process of creating groups of related heroes, and present minor changes to hero creation rules that might be useful for such a party.

Feast & Favor
Paul Looby (Free, 19 page PDF)

Feasts are important social occasions in the Age of Vikings. What happens to your heroes in the houses and feasting halls of neighbours, gothi and foreign jarls and kings can be the start of great friendships or the beginning of dire enmities and blood feuds.

This free supplement sets out optional rules for determining and resolving random feast events in Age of Vikings.
