Results of the Cult of Chaos Scenario Writing Contest and our new Convention Scenarios

Cult of Chaos Scenario Contest Winners

Back in December we announced a contest to find new RuneQuest: Roleplaying in Glorantha adventures to be run at conventions over 2019 and 2020. Congratulations and thanks to all of the pitch writers and the scenario writers. We have finished that contest and are happy to announce the winners!

The following writers passed the round of pitches and all submitted a completed scenario for the contest: 

2019 Scenarios

New Convention Scenarios

Below are all the convention scenarios we will have available this year. We have adventures for Call of Cthulhu, RuneQuest, 13th Age Glorantha and King Arthur Pendragon! Some are ready to play right now, others are in the editing process to be ready for GameStorm and PaizoCon

Early next year they will all be available for download in the Chaos Library on Chaosium's BRP Central forums. All the convention scenarios Chaosium ran last year will be available for download by March 1st too. If you want to access the Chaos Library, join the Cult of Chaos! The Crimson Carnivale - by Leigh Carr
Abandoned by deserting carnies and performers, the few remaining members of the Great Romano Brother’s Circus stand at graveside. The death of the lion tamer is but one of the many blows of fate laid on the shoulders of the investigators. But is it all bad luck and misfortune? Or is something to blame?

The Shooting Party - by Jonathan Mosedale
A crisp fall day hunting in the woods and fields surrounding Highcoombe House is interrupted as two men with antiquated accents confront the investigators before firing muskets and disappearing while gun smoke obscures them. And this is only the first of many strange events to occur over the weekend. Can the guests of the hunting lodge solve this mystery, or are they the ones being hunted?

Blood Orgy on Vampire Island - by James Thompson
While the investigators are enjoying a party cruise, one squall leads the yacht to a floundering fisherman's boat and his statements of doom. Warned away from the "cursed" Wolfstone Island, the decadent host can't resist heading to the shores and carrying on the party there.

The Search for Brian Boru - by Shannon Mac
Welcome to dark ages Ireland. Hope has long since faded for your land, but the Sidhe promise to raise your fallen king from the dead. Be warned: the quest they demand is dangerous and the costs are extreme. What would you give up to return your village to prosperity and hope? This dark and moody scenario delves into the fantasy and horror of Irish myth, but still touches the themes of HP Lovecraft's works.

Stealing the Eye - by Todd Gardiner
Tasked by your chief in raiding the vile temple of a conquering Lunar goddess, you have only to take the massive gem set in the forehead of the giant statue. And hopefully survive to bring home any other treasure you can find there as you rededicate the temple to benevolent Earth goddesses.

When a farmer complains that the tenant farm he was just given is haunted by a frightful spirit, the adventurers must resolve his plight. Whether they banish the spirit or take up its plea, the ancestors are watching how the clan treats their progenitors.

Vasana and her band come across a clan stronghold where the adults wildly fluctuate in emotions and the clan spirit seem to be sick or going insane. Only the heroes are capable of going on a heroquest to resolve the issue.

The battle that drove away the Chaos demons also killed all of the valley’s priestesses and holy people. Now the farmers and warriors of Dunhollow need the adventurers’ help to journey to the next valley to discover what has happened to the great temple to Orlanth, the Storm King.
