Miskatonic Repository Titles Nov 2020 Shadow on the Sea

It's been a busy month for the Miskatonic Repository, our community content program for Call of Cthulhu at DriveThruRPG. Here are even more new releases!

Shadow on the Sea
Martin Batbiscuit ($9.95, 51 page PDF)

For centuries the towns and villages of England’s south coast have acted as hives of activity for smugglers and their more dealy brethren, wreckers who lure ships to their doom using false lights. Nowhere is this more true than St Margarett at Cliffe, a small, unassuming village situated close to one of the most significant Marine hazards in the whole world, the Goodwin Sands, a watery grave to over 2000 ships. But stranger things are afoot than the ghosts of drowned sailors.

A scenario set in England in the 1920s offering challenges that will terrify even the most experienced of Call of Cthulhu players.

Superheroes Vs The Cthulhu Mythos
Carl Matthews ($10, 22 page PDF)

This little diatribe gives rules for creating super heroes for use in a very different style of Call of Cthulhu. It is a mash-up between the Mythos and some of the crazies of a Gothamite’s Rogues Gallery. Almost all of the villains in that town, and not a few of the heroes, have some strange obsessions and fixations, not the least being that they can make a difference.

Mouldering Gramrye of Mythos Spells
Tony Kyprianou ($4.99, 17 page PDF)

This book is designed to enhance the storytelling of Call of Cthulhu by describing, in detail, how spells are cast. Make casting a spell a part of the story rather than just a player saying “I cast the spell.” Some spells may take a whole gaming session to cast, enhancing player immersion in your game.

Many of these spells are a miniature scenario. If you need a short story for a single session where Insane Cultists or Hapless Investigators foolishly gather the ingredients and conduct a ritual, then these will fill that role.

Georgia on my mind
Steven Goodison ($12.00, 216 page PDF)

A 216 page campaign made up of six, varied and different scenarios, taking place all the way from the dangerous wild west to the neon lit bubblegum in 1950s Atlanta.

Rising from the Stars (Pamphlet Adventure)
Fábio Silva ($2.00, 2 page PDF)

A group of scientists from Miskatonic University camp in the mountains near Arkham to study an astronomical phenomenon of lights never seen before. What was supposed to be an exciting discovery becomes a nightmare. This scenario can be used by the Keeper to introduce a new group of Investigators that have their first contact with the Mythos.

Print, fold and play - A few minutes of reading, some hours of fun.

The Ballad of Thirteen Deaths (Pamphlet Adventure)
Fábio Silva ($2.00, 2 page PDF)

The Investigators receive an invitation to a gala party in which only a select group of people have the privilege to participate. What dark secrets and promiscuous actions does this night of horrors promise? The Keeper can use this adventure for short games and the first contact of the Investigators (or Players) with the Cthulhu Mythos.

Print, fold and play - A few minutes of reading, some hours of fun.

Protect and Survive
Stephen J Jones ($7.99, 50 page PDF)

It’s 1984. The Cold War has gone hot. After a NATO military exercise, a full strategic exchange of nuclear and occult weapons has silenced the world. London has miraculously survived - saved by eldritch technology - but technology that has caused irreparable damage to the walls between worlds.

A 1980s post-apocalyptic campaign setting for Call of Cthulhu.

Nick Brooke's Miskatonic Repository Catalog

Miskatonic Repository Catalogue
Nick Brooke ($1.00, Excel Spreadsheet)

This an Excel 365 spreadsheet listing hundreds of titles available from Chaosium’s community content web store for Call of Cthulhu. Based on the information authors make available on DriveThruRPG product pages, it summarises the setting and time periods for each scenario, analyses price per page, and identifies best-sellers and titles that are available in print or foreign-language versions.

Nick notes: there is no “added value” beyond what you could get by reading all 340+ product descriptions for yourself and deciding what to buy. If you have ever been frustrated searching three years’ output on DriveThruRPG, and wished that there was an easier way to find scenarios your group can use, this comprehensive catalogue might be just what you need.

Plus new titles in Korean and Polish!
