Dan Zappone

Dan Zappone is an assistant editor and graphic design specialist at Chaosium.

Dan stumbled into roleplaying games in 1978 when he bought Gamma World, thinking it was a wargame. By the early ’80s, RuneQuest and Call of Cthulhu had taken hold, and he’s been running, hacking, and designing for BRP systems ever since. Over the years, he’s built both digital and analog tools to make games run smoother and stories hit harder, always with an eye toward clarity, usability, and keeping things moving at the table.

By day, Dan manages web development for a Fortune 500 company. After hours, he brings that same focus to Chaosium projects, writing, editing, building play aids, or muttering at broken PDFs until they behave. He lives in Austin, Texas, with his wife, three sons, four cats, and a library of RPG books spanning five decades, and an unshakable belief that games should be both mythic and playable. Also, Ducks deserve your respect.
