Kudos and huge appreciation go to the amazing crew behind the scenes to make Horror in the Cisterns happen: Gianluca Raccagni (co-producer), Ian Hathaway (writer), James Cave (music and sound effects), Asim Evren Yantaç (visual effects), Maria Chiara Torcolacci (costumes), Duru Durmaz (graphic design & program), Merve Özkılıç (logistics), and everyone else in the team. And grateful thanks to everyone who came to see the show!
Horror in the Cisterns part of the A Viking in the Sun project, exploring Norwegian Harald “Hardrada” Sigurdsson's heroic exploits in the Mediterranean world in the eleventh century. This international and interdisciplinary academic project also includes a strong performative and creative element, which will serve to interrogate the subject matter imaginatively, but also for public engagement and impact purposes, and for experimenting in ways to integrate academic research and the creative industries.
