RuneQuest: Warlords is out now!

9TH DECEMBER 2025, ANN ARBOR, MI: We're thrilled to announce RuneQuest: Warlords, a battle-scale turn-based strategy game set in the legendary RuneQuest universe, was officially released on Steam today. 

Developed under license by our friends at Slitherine, the RuneQuest: Warlords video game uses the acclaimed engine behind Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector and has been enriched with deeper melee combat. RuneQuest: Warlords delivers a fresh tactical experience rooted in the mythic world of Glorantha.

A Legendary Setting Brought to Life

Set within the rich lore of Glorantha, the game faithfully brings to life the landscapes, cultures, and conflicts beloved by tabletop fans. The 18-mission campaign follows Hahlgrim Ironsword of the Bilings Tribe as he gathers allies, battles monstrous foes, and confronts betrayal in a saga of vengeance and survival. In single and multiplayer Skirmishes, players can command any of the three major powers competing for survival and dominance: the Talastar Tribes, hardy Orlanthi defending their homeland; the Chaos Hordes, monstrous foes driven by corruption and destruction; and the Lunar Empire, a disciplined force wielding both sorcery and political might.

Every biome, settlement, and creature has been meticulously crafted to reflect the history, mythology, and artistry of Glorantha, bringing it alive. 

Deep, Tactical Turn-Based Strategy

Battles unfold on grid-based maps where terrain, lines of sight, and unit placement shape every engagement. The game’s tactical depth is defined by:

• Zones of Control that dictate enemy movement; 
• Hero-specific tactics, having multiple action points for advanced maneuvers such as flanking and spellcasting;
• Runes shape unit abilities, unlocking spells and powers tied to Glorantha’s divine pantheon.
• Heroes wield Cult Rune Magic, granting potent abilities that grow over time adding abilities progression and strategic depth.
